Tonight I’ve been looking around at some different blogs regarding Jehovah’s Witnesses. I’m amazing at what I’ve been finding. There seems to be zero balance. There are those that have been badly hurt by the Watchtower and Tract Society and their rants are full of frustration which boarder lines on hatred. Then there are those who have this holy or righteous “We have the Truth” types. I have yet to find any Current Jehovah’s Witnesses who currently blog about their faith. This is such a hard subject because beliefs are so different and people are passionate about their beliefs. If you are a Jehovah’s Witness reading this I want to say welcome. I also would like to pose a few questions. Were you raised in the Truth, if not what drew you to become a Jehovah’s Witness? And if you converted to the JW organization what was your background prior to your conversion?

A passion of my past is beginning to take a hold of me once again. My heart is breaking for a group of people. This is an international community of men and women who uphold and project a level of morality and evangelism that is unlike any other religious organization. Jehovah’s Witnesses is a religious group who make claims to be the only channel that God “Jehovah” operates through. They teach a different Jesus than what the gospel story proclaims in the original text of the Bible. Continue Reading »

It’s late. There is a ton of stuff going on in my life. 90 days at my new Job is just around the corner. I feel like God is blessing the ministry He gave to me. Let me first say that I know that I’m called by God to the job I’m at. There are always two different sections to my job. First you have the amazing ministry aspect. Being able to play a part in a persons life is the greatest blessing there is on earth. To be used by God is such a humbling experience. Then there is the job side of things. Continue Reading »

“You’ve all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You’re after one that’s gold eternally.” 1 Corinthians 9:24 (The Message) Last night, I went to the Pillar show here in Tulsa. The tour is titled “For the Love of the Game”. Front man Rob stated that this “game” is the same analogy as Paul speaks of in the passage above. Which leads into the about me portion of my profile. Continue Reading »

Thirsty

This morning, while driving to church, I felt parched. The dryness was not on my lips but submerged deep within. My spiritual life has somehow dried up. It transitioned from overflow to drought in such a way that I never knew how empty I had been until I was totally dried up! It is a great relief to know that Jesus is a man who brings kegs of spiritual quenching to those who believe. John 7:37 says Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me.” It seems the more I pour into the people around me, the more my cup becomes full. I’m not yet to the point of overflow. The thing that concerns me is that once I become saturated by God; I don’t want to stop thirsting. I know my body always needs water to live. When you get dehydrated you can get headaches, become weak, and in the worst cases have renal failure and die. So if actual water is an essential part of our life, is it no wonder that Christ use water as an analogy for the life that He brings? In order to truly live we need Christ! We truly can not live without Him and His thirst quenching life. If we try to continue in our own ways under our own power we will dry up and have nothing to give to those around us. Our lives need to be a drink offering to others. Meaning we need to pour out the overflowing water that is in us to a hurting world. My prayer this weekend is that I hope to carry my cup recklessly, splashing water on whoever gets close to me. I pray that people who get close get wet.

How do I begin? I guess by talking about love. Jesus was asked what is the most important commandment. He was able to sum everything up into two commands. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul and love your neighbour as yourself. So what does both commandments entail? Continue Reading »

Hey everyone I just got back from my vision trip to Nepal, India, and the very mystical Bhutan. I just wanted to share a little bit of what God has shown me through this trip and the importance of what God is doing all over the world. Continue Reading »
